Changes in ACS Guidelines for Certified Bachelors Degrees:
Motivations and Possibilities F. Fleming Crim ACS Committee on Professional Training Department of Chemistry University of Wisconsin – Madison The Committee on Professional
Training of the American Chemical Society is in the midst of an
extensive revision and restructuring of the guidelines for approval of
programs that offer an ACS certified bachelors degree in chemistry.
This presentation gives a brief overview of the Commit-tee functions
and describes the proposed changes in the guidelines along with the
motivations for those changes. It will also be an opportunity to hear
opinions and questions about the changes from interested parties.
