Paths to the Applet
Path to Jmol Applet and JSmol on Server:
In the top text field of the Export to Web (Jmol Web Page Maker) dialog set the relative path on the SERVER (directions to the directory) to Jmol/JSmol from the directory that will contain your web page.  Use a "../" for each level you move up in the directory structure from where your page will be stored followed by names for each level down. Example: jsmol.zip was decompressed in the directory "/www/applets" on the server, and you will be creating the directory "/www/yourname/thispage" to hold the HTML files and other data files. The correct path to the Jmol/JSmol is then "../../applets/jsmol" (up two levels to the www directory and then down to the jmol directory). If you set the path to "." for the server a copy of the jsmol directory will have to be included in the directory that the .html page is in.  This is not recommended as each page is created inside its own directory and the jsmol directory is large.

Local Path (used to test the pages on your local machine while developing them):
In the second text box of the Export to Web (Jmol Web Page Maker) dialog set the relative path on your computer to the jsmol directory.  In the past there was a choice for the local path, but because of security issues with browsers the only way to do this is have the jsmol directory in the same directory as the .html page that uses Jmol/JSmol.  If you set the path to ".", without the quotations, Jmol will decompress a copy of the jsmol directory into the folder containing your web page when the page is created.  This will allow you to test the page locally.  It is recommended that you do not upload this local jsmol directory onto your server to save space.
