Infrared Spectroscopy & Microscopy |

Infrared spectroscopy measures the amount and frequency (like color) of
infrared light absorbed by a sample. The particular frequencies absorbed can
be used to identify what the sample is.
Infrared light is invisible to the eye and lower frequency than red light. Very
intense infrared light can be felt as heat on the skin. When absorbed by matter
infrared light causes molecules to vibrate. |
