Welcome to the Chem 371 class web site. The organization is the same as last semester's Chem 370 site.
The
username and password for the password protected parts of the site have
changed. The user name is: Chem371S09. The password will be
provided the first day of class.
You should make note of the
links at left to the UWO Chem SAGE Server and the link to the UWO
Quantum Server. We will be using both this semester.
SAGE
is an open source (and free) symbolic and numerical mathematics system.
If you like it you can download a copy from the SAGEmath website
to install on your own computer. By the first day of the semester
all students in the class will have an account on the Chem SAGE Server.
Your username will be your last name (all lower case) and your
password your student ID. This server uses a secure connection so
you may change the password to anything reasonable.
The UWO
Quantum Server provides a simple web interface for doing basic quantum
calculations. By the first day of the semester all students in the class
will have an account on the UWO Quantum Server. Your username
will be your last name (all lower case) and your password your first
(all lower case). This server does NOT use a secure connection,
so you should change your password to one that will not endanger any of
your more secure passwords.
